FIRST LOOK: COMET PIECES OPENS ON QUEEN MARGARET DRIVE THIS WEEK

Bal Sandhu and Carla Jack have fulfilled a long-held ambition to open their own cafe. Comet Pieces opens at 150 Queen Margaret Drive this week. The name is “inspired by the PS Comet: a paddle steamer launched on the Clyde in 1812 and which will be commemorated by way of a large wall painting in the cafe”.

Clyde-built still means something.

So, they will serve up bread supplied by Freedom Bakery and Morton’s rolls. Their bacon is from Ramsay’s of Carluke bacon. Papercup supply the coffee. Teas is by The Wee Tea Company. Fruit and veg is from Locavore.

Oh, and the wood for the furniture is from GalGael.

Visit this weekend for free sliders (available whilst stocks last) as a wee taster.
